Ms. Käding's farewell letter

Dear Deutsche Schule Medellín Community:

After eight years of intense shared work, the time has come for me to say goodbye to the position of Headteacher at Deutsche Schule Medellín, which has given me the greatest personal and professional satisfaction. I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to every family, student, and colleague, as well as, to our entire community committed to educational excellence, comprehensive development, and collective growth.

It has been a privilege to lead a school that stands out as a bridge between cultures, promoting dialogue, respect, and the comprehensive education of our students. Together we have faced challenges and celebrated achievements, always guided by the purpose of building a community that is increasingly united and aware of its role in society and in the world.

I take unforgettable memories and profound insights with me back to Germany. I am confident that the commitment, dedication, and collaborative spirit that define DSM will continue to drive the school towards new horizons, keeping alive its mission to educate for a global world that values diversity.

I look towards the future of Deutsche Schule Medellín with deep hope and confidence. During the challenges of the pandemic, our community demonstrated great adaptability and resilience, accelerating pedagogical innovation processes and strengthening the use of technology to maintain educational quality at all times. We have learned to be more responsible, autonomous, and creative. Qualities that will undoubtedly continue to enrich our path.

I dream of a school that continues to grow as a space open to dialogue, with curious, supportive students prepared to contribute to the world with respect for diversity. I hope our community keeps alive the passion for Germany, for learning, and for strengthening the ties that unite us as a bridge between cultures.

I trust that the school will continue innovating and supporting families, shaping sensitive leaders capable of transforming society with values and commitment. The future of DSM is full of promises and possibilities, and each new generation will carry this legacy even further.
